Ever since I started my journey into photography, I’ve got a collection of photographs that’s I’ve wanted to sit down and pick a few to print and hang on my wall. But having to choose a paper, find a local place to print it and then buy a frame to hang them in seemed like too much time. A few ago I got the opportunity try out PrestoPhoto, an online service that lets you pick a photo and turn it into a wall art all from the comfort of you own home.
The service is great and offers more than just wall art, even though that’s exactly what I had been wanting for a while. You get to pick from different types of art and material, as well as sizes. There are three main choices: canvas, metal and acrylic. Each of these options has several sub-categories and each one has a bunch of different sizes to fit your needs. I decided to pick the one that spiked my curiosity: metal.
But before I talk about the product, let me share a little bit about my experience and the time it took for me to get my order. The website is very easy to use. You can see photo of examples of each material and how they would look compared to the other. After choosing from one of the main categories, you get a ton of other options, sizes and shapes that will adjust to the image you want printed on it and where you want to hang it. After that it’s just a matter of uploading a photo and placing the order. Note that if the quality of the photo is not good, the print won’t look great. Make sure you choose photos that are good quality since it will have a huge impact on the final product.
Once you place the order, you’ll be getting updates on it whenever there are any. From the moment I placed my order, to the moment I got the package in my hands only 10 days passed, which is not bad at all considering I ordered two metal prints and you get a product that’s ready to be hanged on your wall.
The result was incredible, way better than I was expecting and a lot better than even the example photos showed. I am seriously impressed with how awesome metal ultra glossy looks. The colors are so vivid and bright, exactly the same color the actual photo showed. The glossy metal makes it looks so beautiful.
PrestoPhoto noted a few times how light the metal prints are, and they really are. Both of them came ready with hooks and two silicone stoppers so it won’t bump with your wall or leave any marks, and instead keeps them straight and not angled down.
The total for my order, which included two metal ultra glossy 8 x 10 prints, was only $55. I was surprised with a discount code I could use for making my first order, which lowered the total down to $48. Could not have been happier!
